What Motivates Us:

I started my career almost 25 years ago. I have had the opportunity and privilege of working with students from all walks of life. I have worked with students in both public education and elite independent institutions.

I think that students learn differently today than they did 75 years ago. We are no longer confined to an in person class that must occur at a particular place and at a particular time. What these courses provide is the freedom for a student to choose when they want to learn and at the pace that they are ready to learn.

Never having been one for memorization. I think that the only way to remember concepts is by "owning" the material. Therefore, we always ask the questions:

• Why do we care about this?

• How do we describe this?

• How did we get here?

• How do we solve this?

We have a great understanding of how students learn and where students get "stuck" or confused when doing STEM. Therefore, we focus on teaching the big picture, connecting concepts from one topic to another, and emphasizing where pitfalls and difficulties lie when going over an idea. This is how we make the hard accessible for the "rest of us".
